<p>Fuel cells are electrochemical devices that <strong>convert the chemical energy of hydrogen into electrical energy</strong> with high efficiency, producing water and heat as a byproduct. Green hydrogen (green H2) is therefore hydrogen generated from <strong>renewable energy sources</strong>, with no carbon emissions. <strong>Water electrolysis</strong> is the most commonly used method for hydrogen generation, using a chemical reaction that separates hydrogen from oxygen.</p>
<p>As a <strong>green energy</strong>, green hydrogen can therefore be used in a variety of sectors, replacing fossil fuels and <strong>promoting the energy transition</strong>. Green hydrogen can be used for fuel cells, but it can also serve as a direct energy source for aviation, <a href="https://www.tempco.it/blog/en/9340/from-water-to-energy-baglietto-unfolds-the-future-of-zero-emission-yachting/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>marine</strong></a>, automotive, and <strong>heavy-duty transportation</strong>, as well as for <strong>on-site industrial power generation</strong>.</p>
<p>Regardless of the type of electrolytic cell technology &#8211; be it <strong>PEMEC</strong> (proton exchange membrane electrolyzer), <strong>AEMEC</strong> (anion exchange membrane electrolyzer), <strong>AEL</strong> (alkaline electrolyzer), <strong>SOEC</strong> (solid oxide electrolyzer), or any other electrolysis technology &#8211; brazed exchangers offer high-value, high-efficiency solutions for electrolysis equipment, electrolytes, reaction water and gas <strong>preheating</strong>, <strong>working fluid cooling</strong>, and system <strong>energy recovery</strong>.</p>

<p>For these hydrogen applications, Kaori offers <strong>two types of brazed plate exchangers</strong>: the <strong>high-nickel alloy exchangers</strong> are the ideal solution for high-temperature SOEC/SOFC applications, capable of operating at temperatures up to 900°C. The new <strong>full-stainless steel brazed exchangers</strong> use stainless steel as the brazing filler material. This makes them suitable for hydrogen generation via PEM electrolysis and for fuel systems, or for low-conductivity deionized water that does not allow the passage of copper ions.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The <strong>new Regulation (EU) 2024/1834</strong> is scheduled to come <strong>into force on July 24, 2026</strong>, defining <strong>new ecodesign requirements for fans</strong> with an electrical input power between 125 W and 500 kW. The new regulation replaces the old Regulation (EU) 327/2011 and aims to <strong>tighten the minimum energy efficiency levels</strong> these devices must meet.</p>
<p>These devices are widely used in <strong>temperature control, cooling, and thermoregulation systems</strong> in the process industry developed by <strong>Tempco</strong>. The regulation defines a fan as a device consisting of at least three components: stator, rotor, and motor. The fan must therefore achieve the minimum required energy efficiency at its optimum operating point, where efficiency is calculated as the ratio of airflow performance to electrical power input.</p>
<p>The new Regulation on electric fans also requires more information on partial loads and <strong>specifies the documentation requirements</strong> for the manufacturer/distributor/user, including <strong>information on reparability </strong>in addition to efficiency. The regulation thus aims to promote the development of the circular economy through the availability of spare parts.</p>

<p>The new requirements, which increase energy efficiency performance levels for fans compared to those established by the previous Ecodesign Regulation, will therefore further reduce energy consumption in industrial systems for temperature control and cooling. These savings can also be <strong>further increased in electric fans through the use of <a href="https://www.tempco.it/blog/en/8367/energy-saving-with-inverters-in-refrigerating-groups/">inverters</a></strong> and systems that adapt air volume to actual process needs, thanks to speed regulation.</p>
<p>Fans that comply with the minimum energy efficiency limits set by the regulation are <strong>recognized by their CE labeling</strong>, certifying their compliance. Only fans that comply with the CE regulation will therefore be allowed to enter the European market, regardless of whether they are manufactured in the EU or imported from non-EU countries.</p>
<p>Finally, a <strong>transition period until July 24, 2027</strong> is foreseen to comply with the new efficiency requirements and the extended documentation requirements imposed by the regulation for <strong>fans installed in other products</strong>, so-called built-in fans.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The problem of <a href="https://www.tempco.it/blog/en/7618/anti-legionnaires-equipments-in-evaporative-towers/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Legionella</strong></a> has sadly returned to the forefront in the final weeks of 2025 in Italy, so we believe it&#8217;s important to take an opportunity to revisit the topic of <a href="https://www.tempco.it/blog/en/6496/legionella-risk-avoiding-and-prevention/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Legionella prevention and control</strong></a>, which, in terms of thermal management, is closely related to systems using <a href="https://en.tempco.it/solutions-en/cooling-towers/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>evaporative cooling towers</strong></a>. These cooling systems are equipped with a series of measures to prevent Legionella, such as <strong>self-draining tanks</strong> to prevent water stagnation, in addition to water treatment systems with <strong>additives that reduce algae and bacteria</strong>.</p>
<p>The Italian regulatory landscape on this topic has undergone a significant transformation in 2025: <strong>Legislative Decree 102/2025</strong>, which came into force on July 19, 2025, made mandatory certain Guidelines drawn up by the Ministry of Health in May 2015. The new obligations for prevention and control established in the Legionella Decree 2025 include:</p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Mandatory monitoring activities</strong>. Activities are now classified according to a Priority code. Water monitoring is now mandatory in facilities beyond the previous regulations, such as hotels, sports centers, and restaurants.</li>
<li>Preparation of the <strong>Water Safety Plan</strong> (PSA). The Water Safety Plan (PSA) is a mandatory risk assessment and management model for managers of internal building water systems.</li>
<li>Appointment of the <strong>Internal Water Distribution Manager</strong> (GIDI). For Priority facilities, the role of the Internal Water Distribution Manager (GIDI) has been introduced. The GIDI is responsible for the building&#8217;s internal drinking water system and must be appointed. He or she is responsible for verifying that analyses and the PSA are performed.</li>
</ul>
<p>Finally, <strong>penalties have also been increased</strong>, with fines of up to 30.000 euro for failure in compliance with monitoring parameters.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Fine and accurate temperature regulation is a delicate and crucial element in <a href="https://www.tempco.it/blog/en/10637/thermoregulation-in-research-and-development-in-pharma-labs/"><strong>pharmaceutical production</strong></a>. At the heart of a GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice)-certified <strong>cleanroom</strong>, a Tempco <a href="https://en.tempco.it/solutions-en/thermo-regulating-units/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>TREG thermoregulation unit</strong></a> supports a pilot reactor for the production of <strong>anticancer chemotherapy drugs</strong>.</p>
<p>The installed TREG manages a <strong>temperature range from –5° C to +90° C</strong>, using glycol water as <a href="https://www.tempco.it/blog/en/8156/monofluid-thermoregulation-in-pharma-group-for-api-production/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">monofluid heat transfer</a>. The unit delivers 24 kW of power in both the heating and cooling phases, allowing for extremely precise modulation of the <strong>operating conditions of the reactor&#8217;s double shell</strong>, depending on the different phases of the drug production process.</p>
