Vent condenser

Chemical reactor vent condenser are usually made with shell and tube heat exchangers.

In Tempco from many years we suggest a better solution with plate heat exchangers.

There are mainly 2 solutions:

Brazed heat exchangers
Semi-welded heat exchangers

We employ welded or brazed ones, because these applications needs perfect sealing to pressure and to full vacuum conditions.

The brazed ones are usually full inox esecution and semi-welded have PTFE gasket. both solutions are suitable with corrosion proof requested from chemical fluid.

Rubber and thermoregulation

After summer holidays, we come back and start-up two new interesting thermoregulating plant, both installed on rubber production machinery.

The two units replace old steam heating plant and both are designed to work witj diathermic oil at 265°C max.

Customer needs to regulate the temperature of different worktops with different set-point, due to changing rubber mix from floor to floor.

After a careful check of different solutions, we opted for a “smart” solution, which provides a single heating unit, with the possibility to modulate the power, with a series of devices for adjusting the temperature of the different plates of the press.

The result is extremely functional and efficient, put the customer in a position to start the budget to convert suits presses of establishment of this new system of thermoregulation.

Summer vacation with …tempco…

… first of all, a heartfelt thanks to all those who follow us, hoping to have given their interesting ideas and information.

After a really intense period, I wish you all to have the TIME to devote to what most excites us, relaxes us and fun.

We find ourselves here in a few weeks ready for a new year of challenges interesting and engaging, with an eye to our passions.

TCOIL unconventional thermal energy

TCOIL immersion heat exchangers are very flexible and suitable for a wide range of thermal energy management applications.

Heat pump linked to low thermal energy source is one of the interesting application of TCOIL.

The extreme tailor-made feature of TCOIL dimple jacket heat exchangers, make them easy to use on textile, steel mill, paper mill, chemical and other low temperature energy recovery applications.

Maintenance operation are very easy and cost saving. It is possible to supply TCOIL electro-polished, to avoid scaling and achieve an extra easy cleaning.

Slurry Ice, green cooling innovation

Slurry ice is a curious expression, lately emerging in industrial cooling applications, freezing and conditioning: it consists of a natural refrigerant, a sort of mud made by water and small ice crystals in suspension.

It is employed as a biphasic cold-vector fluid (liquid-solid) offering high thermal transfer efficiency due to the highest surface area available thanks to the suspended ice crystals, turning it into an innovative kind of fluid refrigerant. Slurry ice has increasingly several applications in process industry cooling, in sectors such as food & beverage, construction industry and medical, combining energy efficiency and lowered operative costs.

Metal corrosion in thermal machines

Selecting a heat exchanger, and in general a thermal machine, the right selection of construction metals is fundamental, in order for metals to be suitable for the kind of application and effective working conditions of the machine.

Corrosion is in particular a major topic, to be carefully considered since the engineering design step, for an equipment or a customer’s plant. Metals are indeed exposed to several external agents, being subject to natural deterioration. Entity and type of factors that can contribute in several and different ways to the corrosion of a metal must be clearly evaluated, in order not only to choose the right material, but also to calculate the right thickness for the components.

Adjusting the temperature in the paper mills processes

The production of paper requires heating and cooling processes during the various processing phases.

Paper mills normally have sizeable heating systems, often combined with cogeneration plants, that maximise the huge amount of thermal energy produced and used, recovering energy from waste production.

Some processing steps involve a precise control over the temperature, requiring specific high-precision systems because traditional steam systems cannot always meet this requirement.

How it’s thermoregulated? Windsurf boards

Considering to the positive feedbacks I had on the last post on thermoregulation in MTB, I decided to keep on going.
And this time I’m gonna test myself on the analysis of a Windsurf board, and here the topic is getting ‘delicate’…

Why ‘delicate’? Because we’re approaching a sport equipment that has to be, at the same time:

Lightweight as much as possible
Shock resistant
Environmental temperature variations proof
Stiff
Perfectly water proof, it doesn’t have to absorb water at all

The right temperature level during production processes ensures repetitivity to the product, and the respect of its characteristics according to project technical specifications.
