Immersed coils or TCOIL plates

On our italian blog we often spoke about the flexibility of TCOIL heat exchangers.

I’m firmly believe in this product and every time we get feedback from market of this feature.

Few weeks ago our good customer operating in steel mill field, contact our technical department because a coil heat exchanger, internal to a waste water single effect evaporator is damaged; the coil has some pitting, but more important is totally scaled and externally clogged.

Energy recovery from air compressor

Air compression central station needs big amount of energy to run.

Compressor generates heat which usually can’t be recovered, but must be dissipated with heat exchanger, evaporative cooler or dry-cooler.

This thermal energy can’t be recovered because the temperature are too low.

There is a fluid inside compressors which operate at higher temperature, it is our target in energy recovery: lubricant oil.

TCOIL tool machinery oil cooling

Another time TCOIL

when we go in workshop to test a TCOIL heat exchanger, our mind goes to solutions and features which this kind of dimple jacket exchanger can achieve.

In this case we can cool down cutting oil for a CNC tool machinery.

The problem is related to the big amount of scale and chippings. A standard heat exchanger will be clogged in minutes.

You can immerge directly TCOIL in the oil tank. The spacing plate by plate is very large allowing ad easy cleaning, without special tools.

A chiller provide cold water for internal circulation inside the TCOIL.

Simple and efficient.

Thermoregulation in CSP – concentrated solar power – Stirling engine enhanced cogeneration

Tempco has engineered a special thermoregulation unit with an extremely wide range of operating conditions, for implementation in an innovative cogeneration system, powered by a CSP, concentrated solar power, system: the DiGeSPo project was developed by FBK, Fondazione Bruno Kessler, embracing the research and building of a modular 1-2 kWe, 3-9 kWth micro cogeneration system, based on concentrated solar power using Stirling engines technology, external combustion engines using temperature’s gap in a thermal fluid to obtain mechanical drive of the piston. The solar powered micro cogeneration unit will be able to supply electricity and heat/cooling to single and multiple domestic dwellings, but also to commercial, industrial and public buildings.

Heat exchangers for solar collectors

Thermal solar collectors are a technology using a reflective collector surface to gather solar radiation upon a receiver device, a pipe with a fluid flowing within used to absorb thermal energy and providing heat transfer. Heat collected by the working fluid can then be used to obtain electrical energy, by thermodynamics water/steam cycles.

Tempco has been contacted recently and involved in an innovative project related to renewable energy, a project for a parabolic trough solar collector, from an original idea of a research team at the Università Politecnica delle Marche, guided by eng. Marco Sotte, at the time committed in a phd at the university. After the building of a first prototype, the Univpm.01 structure, the team needed to test and measure the performances of the plant, requiring to engineer and build a test bench able to ensure the compliance of the solar collector system with the current regulations (Ashrae St. 93/2010 and UNI EN 12975).
