Questi sistemi oltre ad essere alquanto energivori fanno uso di <strong>refrigeranti fonti di gas serra<\/strong>, sempre pi\u00f9 osteggiati dalle normative ambientali. La crescita della potenza computazionale correlata alla diffusione globale di <strong>intelligenza artificiale<\/strong>, <strong>big data analytics<\/strong>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/blog\/6196\/cloud-computing-scopre-acqua-calda\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>cloud computing<\/strong><\/a>, <strong>machine learning<\/strong> e <strong>blockchain<\/strong> rende quindi il problema dell\u2019impatto ambientale dei data center sul global warming un\u2019emergenza da affrontare subito.<\/p>\n<p>Se da una parte l\u2019incremento delle temperature a cui i computer possono operare riduce la necessit\u00e0 di raffreddamento meccanico dei data center, dall\u2019altra le normative spingono a una drastica riduzione dell\u2019impiego di refrigeranti, responsabili di emissioni inquinanti.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-6630 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/data-center-cooling-green.jpg\" alt=\"Data center cooling green\" width=\"661\" height=\"401\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/data-center-cooling-green.jpg 661w, https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/data-center-cooling-green-300x182.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 661px) 100vw, 661px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I data center fanno impiego di diversi <strong>refrigeranti HFC<\/strong> (idrofluorocarburi), tra cui i pi\u00f9 comuni sono l\u2019R134a (usato negli impianti di grandi dimensioni) e l\u2019R410A (utilizzato nei siti di piccola e media grandezza). Il controllo della loro disponibilit\u00e0 a livello normativo sta portando ad un aumento dei loro prezzi. Ci\u00f2 impone agli operatori di data center di ricorrere a nuove tecnologie e strategie di <strong>raffreddamento Green dei data center<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Tra queste vi \u00e8 il <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/blog\/6242\/tcoil-in-applicazione-nelle-cartiere\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">raffreddamento a immersione<\/a> con <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/soluzioni\/scambiatori-di-calore\/scambiatori-calore-immersione\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">scambiatori TCOIL<\/a><\/strong> per il <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/blog\/6026\/il-ritorno-del-raffreddamento-a-fluido-nei-data-center\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">raffreddamento a liquido dei server<\/a>. Magari sfruttando anche la presenza di acqua a bassa temperatura disponibile nell\u2019ambiente (ad esempio acqua di fiordo come nell\u2019installazione Green Mountain in Norvegia). L\u2019eliminazione dei refrigeratori, oltre a eliminare il ricorso a gas fluorurati refrigeranti, in questo caso potrebbe anche consentire ai data center di operare a <strong>basso consumo energetico<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6629\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/data-center-free-cooling.jpg\" alt=\"Data center cooling free\" width=\"628\" height=\"405\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/data-center-free-cooling.jpg 628w, https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/data-center-free-cooling-300x193.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 628px) 100vw, 628px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Un\u2019altra strategia Green di raffreddamento dei data center \u00e8 quindi rappresentata dal <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/blog\/3338\/free-cooling-nei-data-center\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">free cooling<\/a><\/strong>, che come per gli scambiatori a immersione spicca sia per efficienza di raffreddamento che per sostenibilit\u00e0. Il <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/soluzioni\/raffreddatori-industriali-elettroradiatori\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">free cooling<\/a>, che laddove possibile sfrutta le basse temperature ambientali esterne, rappresenta un\u2019ottimale opzione di raffreddamento in combinazione a sistemi ad acqua refrigerata (CW).
