{"id":9586,"date":"2023-10-06T12:20:03","date_gmt":"2023-10-06T10:20:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/blog\/?p=9586"},"modified":"2023-10-06T12:20:25","modified_gmt":"2023-10-06T10:20:25","slug":"energy-saving-with-power-supply-modulation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/blog\/en\/9586\/energy-saving-with-power-supply-modulation\/","title":{"rendered":"Energy saving with power supply modulation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We have talked many times about <strong>heating systems using <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/blog\/en\/7882\/how-to-control-electric-heaters-in-thermoregulating-units\/\">electrical resistors<\/a><\/strong> with <strong>power supply modulation<\/strong> in order to achieve significant energy savings. These are in fact the typical <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/blog\/en\/8197\/mono-fluid-thermoregulation-in-pharmaceutical-industry\/\"><strong>mono-fluid thermoregulating units<\/strong><\/a> for industrial processes, and in particular we are going back to a plant that Tempco has installed years ago for a customer, aimed at <strong>heating a fluid in preparation vessels<\/strong>, in a very short time lapse.<\/p>\n<p>Having preparation vessels with very high volume capacity, the power required was high as well, we\u2019re talking about <strong>150 kW or electrical power for the initial heating phase<\/strong> in order to <strong>heat <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/blog\/en\/6172\/the-5-must-to-do-point-to-start-up-treg-hce-hcst-o-oh-diathermic-oil\/\">diathermic oil<\/a> at the temperature or 250\u00b0 C<\/strong>. But once the fluid is heated, the cycle must be maintained and the installed power is only partially employed, or even no more required.<\/p>\n<p>We then suggested the customer to install the <strong>control panel of the electrical resistors with triode thyristors<\/strong>, and thus with modulating power, a kind of inverter, that allows to manage the resistor supplying power based on the actual real need.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"RISPARMIARE ENERGIA CON LA POTENZA MODULANTE\" width=\"750\" height=\"422\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/F_ZVUXXipIA?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>After two years of functioning, we visited the customer and downloaded the <strong>data from the data logger installed on board of the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.tempco.it\/solutions-en\/thermo-regulating-units\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">thermoregulating unit<\/a><\/strong>.
