{"id":9397,"date":"2023-05-12T12:07:46","date_gmt":"2023-05-12T10:07:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/blog\/?p=9397"},"modified":"2023-05-12T12:07:46","modified_gmt":"2023-05-12T10:07:46","slug":"thermoregulation-and-energy-saving-in-vulcanization-of-latex","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/blog\/en\/9397\/thermoregulation-and-energy-saving-in-vulcanization-of-latex\/","title":{"rendered":"Thermoregulation and energy saving in vulcanization of latex"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A new interesting application in <a href=\"https:\/\/en.tempco.it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Tempco<\/strong><\/a> for <strong>latex vulcanization plants<\/strong>, employed for the <strong>production of pillows and mattresses<\/strong>, for which we have supplied a small <a href=\"https:\/\/en.tempco.it\/solutions-en\/thermo-regulating-units\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>thermoregulation unit<\/strong><\/a> of ours.<\/p>\n<p>These plants have usually a <strong>steam vulcanization section<\/strong>, inside a dedicated chamber, that however entails a significant <strong>loss of both energy and steam<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Aiming at <strong>increasing the efficiency of the vulcanization process<\/strong>, we have therefore developed a <strong>direct heating and thermoregulating system of the mould<\/strong> using <strong>pressurized water<\/strong>, also allowing a more effective and accurate control of the temperature and a more efficient use of the energy. The process requires in particular to heat the mould (weight of 1.000 kg in aluminium) and its content (35 kg of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/blog\/en\/6339\/adiabatic-free-cooling-at-plast-2018\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">rubber<\/a> and 25 kg of water) using pressurized water from a temperature of 50\u00b0 C up to 100\u00b0 C, in a cycle time of 30 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>In this particular installation, heating is achieved using a steam <a href=\"https:\/\/en.tempco.it\/solutions-en\/heat-exchangers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>heat exchanger<\/strong><\/a>, but it can be also obtained using <strong>electrical heating<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-9389\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Tempco-centralina-termoregolazione-stampo-vulcanizzazione-lattice.jpg\" alt=\"Tempco centralina termoregolazione stampo vulcanizzazione lattice\" width=\"534\" height=\"671\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Tempco-centralina-termoregolazione-stampo-vulcanizzazione-lattice.jpg 542w, https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Tempco-centralina-termoregolazione-stampo-vulcanizzazione-lattice-239x300.jpg 239w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 534px) 100vw, 534px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The project has been developed by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/giovannicaschetto71\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"broken_link\"><strong>Giovanni Caschetto<\/strong><\/a>, an engineer with a strong <strong>know-how and expertise in the field of latex products<\/strong> (mattresses and pillows), developed first in Italy and then in China. Overall, the system allows an <strong>energy saving of 50%<\/strong> in the production of the heat required by the vulcanization process.
