{"id":7982,"date":"2021-02-12T11:38:07","date_gmt":"2021-02-12T10:38:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/blog\/?p=7982"},"modified":"2021-02-12T11:44:49","modified_gmt":"2021-02-12T10:44:49","slug":"smart-efficiency-and-energy-saving-immersion-driven","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/blog\/en\/7982\/smart-efficiency-and-energy-saving-immersion-driven\/","title":{"rendered":"Smart efficiency and energy saving immersion-driven"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I\u2019m making available also here the presentation I did for the recent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mcter.com\/webedition.asp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">online edition of mcTER<\/a> event, last November, dedicated to <strong>smart efficiency<\/strong>. Back then I took the opportunity to speak about <strong>energy savings and efficiency<\/strong> advantages that can be achieved with <a href=\"https:\/\/en.tempco.it\/solutions-en\/heat-exchangers\/dimple-jacket\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>immersion TCOIL dimple jacket exchangers<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In the video, you can see a more in depth explanation of the project we deployed for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/blog\/en\/7359\/immersion-cooling-at-the-marina-di-loano-seaport\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Marina di Loano seaport<\/strong><\/a>, in the Liguria Region. The direct immersion of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/blog\/en\/7144\/dimple-jacket-exchangers-in-industrial-laundry-ironers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>dimple jacket exchangers<\/strong><\/a> in the seawater allowed to eliminate almost completely the pumping and suction systems of seawater that previously served traditional heat exchangers. The exchangers serve in turn a network of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/blog\/en\/5604\/heat-pumps-how-do-they-work\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">heat pumps<\/a>, distributed all over the wide area of the seaport. The cut of electricity consumes have thus been really interesting.<\/p>\n<p>TCOIL exchangers have been realized using a special material, <strong>super-duplex stainless steel<\/strong>, in order to ensure <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/blog\/en\/5122\/metal-corrosion-in-thermal-machines-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">corrosion resistance<\/a> against chlorides<\/strong> in the brackish water. After two years of operations by immersion, the exchangers naturally showed a certain level of biological and organic growth on the surfaces. That\u2019s the reason why a special support structure has been designed, equipped with lifting hooks allowing to pull out the exchangers from the seaport to proceed with <strong>cleaning and washing operations<\/strong> using a pressure washer. This operation is much more easy with this kind of exchangers, compared to traditional heat exchangers, and doesn\u2019t require any specific expertise thanks to the <strong>high mechanical resistance<\/strong> of TCOIL exchangers.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"750\" height=\"422\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/f3CbjlmRSE8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen title=\"MCTER 25 Novembre 2020, il recupero energetico con gli scambiatori TCOIL\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, the video also tells about another similar installation we did in Tempco, for the <strong>Ispra Research center<\/strong> of the <strong>European Commission<\/strong>. Here, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/blog\/en\/7012\/dimple-jacket-exchangers-in-a-seaport\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">TCOIL exchangers<\/a> have been immersed inside the water of an artificial drain, using its water to feed heat pumps. Fresh water entails here less material problems, which was here AISI 316. Anyway, the customer wanted an <strong>electropolished stainless steel<\/strong>, a special finishing that reduces the deposition and growth of algae and other organisms above the exchangers surfaces, reducing the maintenance needs.<\/p>\n<p>At last, there is also a quick mention of another very interesting application of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/blog\/en\/7144\/dimple-jacket-exchangers-in-industrial-laundry-ironers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>TCOIL immersion cooling exchangers<\/strong><\/a>, having a huge potential. That is the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/blog\/en\/7393\/the-big-rise-of-immersion-liquid-cooling-in-data-center-market\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">liquid cooling of data centers<\/a><\/strong>, of servers and electronic equipments.
