In case of plate heat exchangers that can be inspected there are no problems, because it\u2019s always possible to maintain and repair them. In case of <strong>hammering pressures, steam peaks or condensate<\/strong> that damages the gaskets, it\u2019s indeed possible to open the exchanger, replace the gaskets, closing the exchanger and make a pressure test, and the heat exchanger is ready back to work. A different story with <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/en.tempco.it\/solutions-en\/heat-exchangers\/brazed-plate\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">brazed plate exchangers<\/a><\/strong>, that cannot be repaired when they get broken.<\/p>\n<p>The main problem with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/blog\/en\/7279\/temperature-regulation-of-wheat-grains\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">plate heat exchangers using steam<\/a> happen when there is not a <strong>proper condensate discharge<\/strong>, so that condensate remains inside the exchanger. When new steam enters the exchanger in presence of stagnant condensate, the <strong>condensate suddenly evaporates<\/strong> and noises such as clicks and cracks can be heard. These are caused by the sudden evaporation of the condensate which leads to very high pressure peaks, that can damage the exchanger irreparably.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"750\" height=\"422\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/jTamteAFQ2k?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>An efficient <strong>condensate discharge must then be installed<\/strong>, ensuring that the discharge pipeline have no counter pressures, in order to achieve a complete draining.
