{"id":7228,"date":"2019-10-25T15:12:29","date_gmt":"2019-10-25T13:12:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/blog\/?p=7228"},"modified":"2019-10-25T15:12:29","modified_gmt":"2019-10-25T13:12:29","slug":"nozzles-and-water-distribution-in-cooling-towers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/blog\/en\/7228\/nozzles-and-water-distribution-in-cooling-towers\/","title":{"rendered":"Nozzles and water distribution in cooling towers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>New On-the-road video today, back to <a href=\"https:\/\/en.tempco.it\/solutions-en\/cooling-towers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Cooling towers<\/strong><\/a>, and we\u2019re talking about the <strong>components of cooling towers<\/strong> in particular.<br \/>\nLet\u2019s focus on the <strong>water distribution system on filling packs<\/strong> on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/blog\/en\/7169\/water-cooling-essentials-in-a-cooling-tower\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">evaporative towers<\/a>, that ensure the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/blog\/en\/6768\/exhaust-heat-recovery-in-cogeneration-with-shell-and-tube-exchangers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">thermal exchange<\/a> in the system. Package towers usually are equipped with a pipe distribution system connected to <strong>nozzles<\/strong> to spray water on filling packs.<\/p>\n<p>Focusing on nozzles, there are nozzles of various shape and size, depending on the load of water to distribute. Nozzles with very <strong>low pressure drop<\/strong> and a good distribution pattern are usually employed, and at the same time they <strong>must be no-clogging<\/strong> in order to avoid the deposition of scaling and debris contained in the circulating water.<\/p>\n<p>Materials of nozzles can be various, there are <strong>plastic nozzles<\/strong> but also made in metals, usually <strong>stainless steel<\/strong>, often employed in huge concrete cooling towers.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"750\" height=\"422\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/_-M82JRsZts?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Big concrete cooling towers don\u2019t have a pressured distribution system, having open channels leveraging <strong>water gravity distribution<\/strong>.
