Let\u2019s present today a retrofit solution developed for a supermarket<\/strong>, where traditional AC motors have been replaced with electric EC motors<\/strong><\/a> that can be regulated with 0-10 V signal. The substitution has been done on the totality of refrigerated counters<\/strong>, evaporators<\/strong><\/a> and chillers<\/strong><\/a> employed in the supermarket.<\/p>\n

The installation of electric fans with EC motor<\/strong> and external rotor granted significant advantages, first of all allowing a reduction in power consumption<\/strong>, with an annual saving of 138.970 kWh, approx 1\/3 of the amount of energy<\/strong> previously consumed by AC motors.<\/p>\n

\"retrofit<\/a><\/p>\n

Despite a higher initial investment, the installation of EC motors had thus a second relevant benefit, due to the fact that this kind of technology doesn\u2019t require maintenance costs<\/strong>, while maintenance costs for 10 years of operations on AC motors can be calculated in 72.000 \u20ac.<\/p>\n

\"EC<\/a>The retrofit substitution of AC motors with EC motors on the totality of refrigerated counters, evaporators and chillers<\/strong><\/a> in the supermarket granted then an annual saving of 21.527 \u20ac<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In this specific application, considering an energy cost of 0,11 \u20ac\/kWh, the comparison for the totality of equipments is as follows:<\/p>\n

Overall costs AC motors<\/strong> in 10 years:
\n– 12.800 \u20ac initial investment
\n– 72.000 \u20ac maintenance
\n– 381.568 \u20ac operating costs<\/p>\n

Total amount on 10 years: 466,368 \u20ac<\/strong> – annual cost of 46.637 \u20ac<\/p>\n

Overall costs EC motors<\/strong> in 10 years:
\n– 22.400 \u20ac initial investment
\n– 228.701 \u20ac operating costs<\/p>\n

Total amount on 10 years: 251.101 \u20ac<\/strong> – annual cost of 25.110 \u20ac<\/p>\n
