That\u2019s why I\u2019m dedicating a new tutorial to the functioning of a <a href=\"https:\/\/en.tempco.it\/solutions-en\/chillers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>chiller<\/strong><\/a> (english subtitles available), responding to many requests I\u2019ve received.<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s start saying that we all have a chiller in our own homes: a refrigerator is indeed a chiller, working on the same physical principles. The explanation of the <strong>thermal cycle of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/blog\/en\/5825\/chillers-30c-in-pharma-industry\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">chiller<\/a><\/strong> can be commonly found in many sources on the web, involving cycles of compression, expansion, evaporation and condensation. I wanted better to underline an essential concept, being the fact that <strong>a chiller is not a \u2018cold maker\u2019<\/strong>, but it simply removes heat, using a refrigerant gas, or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/blog\/en\/4206\/chiller-and-service\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>freon<\/strong><\/a>, as fluid thermal vector.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"750\" height=\"422\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Mm2WE7vBlos?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The refrigerant enters the environment to be cooled through a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/blog\/en\/4029\/energy-recovery-from-air-compressor\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>compressor<\/strong><\/a>, and passing through an <strong>evaporator<\/strong>, that is a <a href=\"https:\/\/en.tempco.it\/solutions-en\/heat-exchangers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>heat exchanger<\/strong><\/a>, the gas evaporates. To achieve the status change from liquid to vapor, the gas absorbs thermal energy, heating up, cooling down as a consequence the environment\u2019s temperature.<\/p>\n<p>The gas reaches then the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.tempco.it\/solutions-en\/cooling-towers\/condensatori-evaporativi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>external condenser<\/strong><\/a>, another heat exchanger, where it cools down condensing and returning to a liquid state, dissipating the heat into the external ambient.
