{"id":5182,"date":"2015-05-28T14:01:18","date_gmt":"2015-05-28T12:01:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/blog\/en\/?p=5182"},"modified":"2015-05-27T17:58:09","modified_gmt":"2015-05-27T15:58:09","slug":"slurry-ice-green-cooling-innovation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/blog\/en\/5182\/slurry-ice-green-cooling-innovation\/","title":{"rendered":"Slurry Ice, green cooling innovation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Slurry_ice\" target=\"_blank\">Slurry ice<\/a><\/strong> is a curious expression, lately emerging in <a href=\"http:\/\/en.tempco.it\/solutions\/chillers\/\" target=\"_blank\">industrial cooling<\/a> applications, freezing and conditioning: it consists of a <strong>natural refrigerant<\/strong>, a sort of mud made by water and small ice crystals in suspension.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_5173\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Slurry-ice.jpg\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-5173\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-5173\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Slurry-ice-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"Slurry Ice\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Slurry-ice-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Slurry-ice-1024x682.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Slurry-ice.jpg 1276w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-5173\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Slurry ice and snow &#8211; courtesy by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nevexn.com\">www.nevexn.com<\/a><\/p><\/div>\n<p>It is employed as a <strong>biphasic cold-vector fluid<\/strong> (liquid-solid) offering high thermal transfer efficiency due to the highest surface area available thanks to the suspended ice crystals, turning it into an <strong>innovative kind of fluid refrigerant<\/strong>. <strong>Slurry ice<\/strong> has increasingly several applications in <strong>process industry cooling<\/strong>, in sectors such as <strong>food &amp; beverage<\/strong>, <strong>construction industry<\/strong> and <strong>medical<\/strong>, combining <strong>energy efficiency<\/strong> and lowered operative costs.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Strictly connected, and recently presented, it\u2019s a promising project developed by an <strong>italian startup<\/strong>, that has designed and engineered an innovative green technology for the <strong>production of slurry ice and high quality snow working at temperatures above 0\u00b0 C<\/strong>: the machine is called <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nevexn.com\" target=\"_blank\">NeveXN<\/a><\/strong> (something that sounds like Snow4Ever, in italian language), an equipment able to create snow employing a completely sustainable process, and totally <strong>additive free<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_5175\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/NeveXN-snowmaker.jpg\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-5175\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-5175\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/NeveXN-snowmaker-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"Green Snowmaker\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/NeveXN-snowmaker-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/NeveXN-snowmaker-1024x682.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/NeveXN-snowmaker.jpg 1276w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-5175\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">NeveXN, innovative snowmaking green technology. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nevexn.com\">www.nevexn.com<\/a><\/p><\/div>\n<p>The project started in 2010 from the study of <strong>Francesco Besana<\/strong>, a mechanical engineer and researcher in the field of <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Solar_air_conditioning\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>solar air conditioning<\/strong><\/a>. The prototype realized is a <strong>snow gun<\/strong>, a snowmaking machine that creates snow using water and vapor, in a sustainable way and <strong>not depending upon external ambient temperature<\/strong>.
