{"id":11595,"date":"2026-11-06T13:07:53","date_gmt":"2026-11-06T12:07:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/blog\/?p=11595"},"modified":"2026-11-06T13:07:53","modified_gmt":"2026-11-06T12:07:53","slug":"immersion-plates-exchangers-for-process-tanks-cooling","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/blog\/en\/11595\/immersion-plates-exchangers-for-process-tanks-cooling\/","title":{"rendered":"Immersion plates exchangers for process tanks cooling"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>For the <strong>cooling of process tanks<\/strong>, Tempco\u2019s TCOIL series of <a href=\"https:\/\/en.tempco.it\/solutions-en\/heat-exchangers\/dimple-jacket\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>immersion plate heat exchangers<\/strong><\/a> offers a highly efficient solution. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/blog\/en\/11467\/cutting-oil-cooling-with-immersion-heat-exchangers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">TCOIL immersion exchangers<\/a><\/strong> provide great <strong>flexibility in terms of footprint<\/strong>, as the exchangers can be sized according to both the required thermal duty and the available space.<\/p>\n<p>This is illustrated by a recent project for a client in the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/blog\/en\/10163\/free-flow-exchangers-for-thermal-energy-recovery-in-the-textile-industry\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">textile<\/a> and synthetic fiber production sector<\/strong>, who needed to cool two process tanks, each 60 cm wide with a usable length of 4 meters. Cooling is achieved via plates immersed directly in the tanks through a water-to-water heat transfer process. Cooling water is supplied at 8\u00b0C to maintain the process water at a temperature between 20\u00b0C and 40\u00b0C, depending on production requirements.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-11597\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/11\/Tempco-scambiatori-a-piastre-a-immersione-raffreddamento-vasche-di-processo-industria-tessile-1.jpg\" alt=\"Illustrative image of a production process in the textile industry, related to the application of immersion plate heat exchangers for cooling process tanks.\" width=\"650\" height=\"434\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/11\/Tempco-scambiatori-a-piastre-a-immersione-raffreddamento-vasche-di-processo-industria-tessile-1.jpg 1361w, https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/11\/Tempco-scambiatori-a-piastre-a-immersione-raffreddamento-vasche-di-processo-industria-tessile-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/11\/Tempco-scambiatori-a-piastre-a-immersione-raffreddamento-vasche-di-processo-industria-tessile-1-1024x682.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/11\/Tempco-scambiatori-a-piastre-a-immersione-raffreddamento-vasche-di-processo-industria-tessile-1-768x512.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Space constraints<\/strong> were carefully evaluated, further complicated by the presence of drain pipes at the bottom of the tanks. Consequently, the plate was positioned on the bottom of the tank floor but raised by a few centimeters, allowing for heat exchange across both sides of the plate. A wide range of industries can benefit significantly from immersion plate heat exchanger cooling solutions\u2014from <strong>textiles<\/strong> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/blog\/en\/8266\/tcoil-plate-exchangers-in-galvanic-baths\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>electroplating<\/strong><\/a> to surface treatments and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/blog\/en\/11443\/wastewater-heat-recovery-with-custom-immersion-plate-heat-exchangers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>heat recovery from wastewater<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In parallel, Tempco has indeed developed another application using TCOIL immersion plate heat exchangers for a client in the <strong>maritime\/port sector<\/strong>.
