Using copper in brazed plate heat exchangers<\/strong><\/a> for deionized and demineralized water applications can lead to fluid contamination and damage to the exchanger itself. For heating and cooling applications requiring high water purity and exceptional corrosion resistance<\/strong>, the solution is to choose all-stainless steel brazed plate heat exchangers.<\/p>\n

To meet this need, Tempco offers the new TCBS series of brazed plate heat exchangers made entirely of stainless steel<\/strong> and featuring brazing with a copper-free stainless steel alloy. These exchangers are therefore the ideal choice for a wide range of applications\u2014from the hydrogen industry<\/strong><\/a> in fuel cells<\/strong><\/a> and electrolyzers, to semiconductor<\/strong> manufacturing, the food industry<\/strong>, the chemical and pharmaceutical<\/strong><\/a> sectors, and any processes requiring the handling of pure or demineralized water.<\/p>\n

The absence of copper in the brazing of these heat exchangers eliminates the risk of copper ion contamination<\/strong>; such ions can be released upon contact with demineralized water through a process known as leaching<\/strong>, which can eventually lead to perforation of the heat exchanger. Compared to traditional gasketed plate heat exchangers, brazed models allow for stable operating pressures<\/strong>\u2014standard versions rated at 10 bar<\/strong> (A) or 20 bar<\/strong> (B)\u2014along with a wide operating temperature range and superior corrosion resistance. These factors contribute to high heat transfer efficiency, long service life, and an excellent cost-to-performance ratio. Their greater compactness compared to shell-and-tube solutions also makes the TCBS ideal for applications with limited space<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Tempco TCBS series of all-stainless steel brazed plate heat exchangers is available in seven sizes<\/strong> to meet diverse production needs, ranging from low to high flow rates. Custom configurations and connection options<\/strong> are also available upon request. The TCBS series corresponds to the “S – All Stainless BPHE” series manufactured by Kaori Heat Treatment Co., Ltd. (Taiwan).<\/p>\n
