{"id":11386,"date":"2026-06-26T12:31:14","date_gmt":"2026-06-26T10:31:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/blog\/?p=11386"},"modified":"2026-06-26T12:31:14","modified_gmt":"2026-06-26T10:31:14","slug":"environment-and-chillers-phase-out-of-f-gases-in-new-european-regulation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/blog\/en\/11386\/environment-and-chillers-phase-out-of-f-gases-in-new-european-regulation\/","title":{"rendered":"Environment and chillers, phase-out of F-gases in new European regulation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>European F-Gas legislation<\/strong>, governed by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mase.gov.it\/portale\/regolamento-ue-2024-573-sui-gas-fluorurati-a-effetto-serra-che-modifica-la-direttiva-ue-2019-1937-e-che-abroga-il-regolamento-ue-n-517-2014\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">EU Regulation 2024\/573<\/a>, establishes rules for the use, containment, and <strong>phase-out of fluorinated greenhouse gases <\/strong>&#8211; substances responsible for global warming and having a high environmental impact if released.<\/p>\n<p>F-gases are <strong>refrigerant gases<\/strong> essential for the operation of various types of equipment, such as air conditioners, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tempco.it\/blog\/en\/9012\/renewables-geothermal-heat-pumps-and-tcoil-exchangers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>heat pumps<\/strong><\/a>, gas-based fire suppression systems, <a href=\"https:\/\/en.tempco.it\/solutions-en\/chillers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>chillers<\/strong><\/a>, and refrigeration plants.<\/p>\n<p>Specifically regarding chillers, the new regulation imposes very <strong>strict limits on new installations starting January 1, 2027<\/strong>.
