We continue to talk about multistage compressors<\/a><\/strong>, following a first article in which we illustrated the main functions and applications<\/a> in the production and treatment of technical gases<\/strong>, such as air and hydrogen<\/a><\/strong>. Another key point in this type of compressors concerns interstage cooling<\/strong>, a fundamental component in multistage compressors to keep the temperature under control and ensure optimal performances.<\/p>\n

There are in particular different technological solutions for interstage cooling, each with specific characteristics and advantages.<\/p>\n

\"The<\/p>\n

The most traditional solutions use different types of heat exchangers<\/strong>:
\n1. Shell and tube heat exchangers<\/strong><\/a>:
\n\u25e6 Robust and suitable for managing large volumes of gas.
\n\u25e6 Limited in terms of compactness and thermal efficiency.
\n2. Plate heat exchangers<\/strong><\/a>:
\n\u25e6 Compact and offering high efficiency.
\n\u25e6 Less suitable for high pressure applications.<\/p>\n

Then there are new advanced solutions, which use innovative types of PCHE exchangers<\/strong><\/a>:
\n\u2022 PCHE<\/strong><\/a> (Printed Circuit Heat Exchangers) or microstructured exchangers:
\n\u25e6 Innovative solutions that integrate multiple thermal flows, ideal for gases such as hydrogen.<\/p>\n
